The Cowfoot Prince

On Friday 3 November we welcomed the internationally acclaimed Usifu Jalloh, 'The Cowfoot Prince', back to St Martin's. He gave another powerful presentation that inspired and informed. As part of our celebration of Black History Month, Usifu delivered a storytelling session at lunch time for all students who wanted to attend ( and the hall was full!). In the afternoon, Year 7 students participated in a bespoke African storytelling workshop which they enjoyed immensely.

It was with great delight that Mrs Stanislaus accepted the offer from Usifu Jalloh to be one of the key speakers at the launch of his Storytelling company Storie Storie. This was the launch of the company in association with Alim Kamara. The event took place at the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton. Mrs Stanislaus made a short presentation alongside two students, Head Girl Peace, and Deputy Head Girl Nadine.

After the launch, Usifu wrote to the school and said:

Dear Mrs Stanislaus

Thank you so so very much for the support you gave to us on our launch. We have the video of you and your students speaking. I have watched it all and I was deeply moved by their words. I look forward to visiting your school again soon. Usifu Jalloh
