"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
   John 8: 12

On Tuesday afternoon we celebrated St Martin's annual Christingle service. A group of eighty students gathered in the Hall to sing carols, learn about the symbolism of the Christingle and to reflect upon the message of light and hope at the heart of Christmas. Mrs Moorey, our School Chaplain, spoke about Jesus being the light of the world,  bringing salvation and life in all its fullness. The students, led by our Music Department and choir of soloists, sang beautifully.  As the candles were lit, a sense of Christmas joy filled the Hall. It was a special moment of peace in the heart of this busy season.

Christingle Workshop

Many students came to the Christingle making workshop at lunch time led by volunteers from Holy Trinity church. The students had fun attaching sweets to oranges, enjoying festive aroma as they prepared for the service.
