On Saturday 27 January, we were delighted to welcome Helen Hayes, our local MP, to St Martin's. Helen spent some time talking to our girls who attend the Saturday morning Action Tutoring Programme. At least 40 girls regularly attend bespoke sessions to sharpen up their English and Mathematics skills, knowledge and understanding. This programme has a particular focus on supporting young people that are in receipt of Pupil Premium.
This is now our second year of working with the Action Tutoring Programme and we are confident that this provides the additionally we need that makes a difference to the grades that students achieve in the GCSEs. The results for 2017 for the students who were on the programme are testament to the impact of the Action Tutoring Programme.
Photographs of the event will be added soon!
