Invisible Heroes exhibition

On Wednesday, 19 September, a group of Year 7 students when to the Invisible Heroes exhibition at The Institute of Civil Engineers.  The visit gave students the opportunity to find out about STEM careers in the field of Civil Engineering and the role Civil Engineers play in the infrastructure of the UK.

The exhibition also gave the students the opportunity to take part in immersive technology: wearing virtual reality headsets, they looked around Sellafield Nuclear station, walked on a Crossrail virtual reality platform and looked at what would happen to London if we did not have the Thames barrier. They also went round interactive stations and learnt about specific roles within Civil Engineering. At the end of the exhibition, the girls had a chance to construct buildings using Lego.
