Harvest Festival

We were delighted to welcome Norwood Brixton Food Bank to our annual Harvest festival on Friday, 19th October. We heard from the director of the Food Bank, Elizabeth Maytom, about the work they do to support families in our local area in need of food. The Food Bank fed over 9,800 people last year, and gave away more than 69 tonnes of food. Our students and families were very generous in their donations this year and it was a great way to see our school values in action.

A special thanks to our Sixth Formers who worked hard in their form groups to make wonderfully decorated harvest boxes (featured below), brimming with food and toiletry items. To see our older students leading the way in service, compassion, justice and perseverance is an excellent example to our younger girls. One of the messages written on the harvest boxes summed up the spirit of service and why it is so integral to us here at St Martin's - "We rise by lifting others".
