On Tuesday, 27 November, a group of KS3 students gathered for a very special Careers event. On arrival, they were met by a large number of professionals who, in turn, told them about their career paths, experiences on leaving school and the challenges they faced in their chosen careers as well as what it took to get there. Following the presentations, students were given the opportunity to ask questions in an informal atmosphere.
The professionals involved included:
- Business owners
- Architect and construction manager from Knight Harwood
- Solicitor from a City financial institution
- Police officer
- Assistant professor of Epidemiology
- Ex St Martin's student
The students really appreciated this experience and a number of them said 'Can we do it again? It was so good!' and 'I got to think about things from a different perspective.'
A very big thank you to all those professionals who attended our KS3 Coffee Morning, it was a most enjoyable experience and made a real difference to our students as begin to consider their own future careers.
