LionHeart Challenge

Back to Latest News

Earlier this term, Year 10 participated in The LionHeart Challenge, a programme created to inspire young students to become accomplished businessmen/women.

Walking into the hall immediately imposed a feeling of being outside of our comfort zone. We were grouped with people we would not necessarily work with on a daily basis, which created a challenge in itself. Each group was given the same business challenge and we had to find a solution to benefit our community with the help of highly trained coaches. We had to analyse and assess the solution as a whole, including a full financial and marketing solution. After that, we had to deliver a final presentation to four judges, some of them our teachers.

Throughout the day, we came across many difficulties and challenges; we learnt how important communication and compromise is in a group striving to achieve a collective  goal. As a team, we learnt that everyone had unique talents which are useful and just as special as others. I feel that the LionHeart Challenge also expanded and strengthened qualities in us that are very crucial for our growth as young women: tenacity, determination, perseverance and compromise, morals which are a intertwined in our school ethos as well.

My team, (and I'm sure the whole of Year 10), would recommend the LionHeart Challenge to schools. It is a wonderful way to learn essential skills needed in society today, and to accept and appreciate everyone’s gift as valuable.
