On Tuesday, 7 May a group of Year 9 students travelled to the English Speaking Union's headquarters in Dartmouth House, Mayfair, to take part in the London Debate Challenge. This challenge is a competition which aims to bring the benefits of debating to maintained school in the capital.
Students participated in sessions delivered by experienced oracy trainers. This was followed by the multi-borough heat stage of the competition where our students participated in a range of competitive debates exploring key issues within modern society.
Happily, our team were successful and progressed to the regional finals in June. Judges were impressed by the emphatic and confident delivery of our speakers.
