On Saturday 8 October, the Diocese of Southwark celebrated Black History Month 2016 in Southwark Cathedral. The day started with a Thanksgiving service led by Bishop Christopher, the Bishop of Southwark and the address was given by Mrs Beverley Stanislaus, our Headteacher.  A small group of girls from St Martin's, led by Ms Huggins on the piano, sung beautifully during the communion. They were not phased by the presence of so many people or by the beauty and size of Southwark Cathedral, or indeed by singing before the Bishop of Southwark and so many mayors with their chains!

The service was followed by a range of workshops based on the theme Lead, Enable, Serve.
