Jack Petchey Speak Out

Back to Latest News

On Thursday, 3 May 2018 students from several Lambeth schools gathered at the Norwood School to compete in the Jack Petchey ‘Speak Out Challenge’ Regional final. St Martin’s was represented by our very own Aderoju from Year 10 who had won the first round of this prestigious national competition. Aderoju presented a fantastic speech in front of hundreds of spectators. Although she did not win, this is what Elaine Powell from the Jack Petchey Foundation said about her: ‘Please give a huge congratulations to Aderoju, who was calm, collected and not flustered at all and delivered an outstanding speech. I am always blown away from how she began the workshop to what we get to see on the stage. A vocal, confident and passionate young lady. I wish everyone could have that transformation. We believe that Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge enables pupils to find their voice... we couldn't do it without you. Thank you!’
