House of Luhuvilo

Our school theme for February is Kindness - and here at St Martin’s we are putting kindness into action by raising funds to help build an orphanage in Tanzania. The orphanage is called the House of Luhuvilo - a word that means ‘Hope’. It will care for vulnerable street children from the city of Njombe, Tanzania.

We are aiming to raise money to provide items such as playground equipment, a cow to provide milk for the children - and even more bricks to keep building the orphanage as it grows. Each form group is being challenged to come up with their own ideas and activities to bring in the vital funds. Bake sales, sponsored events, challenges - we will be having fun for a good cause, raising smiles here in Tulse Hill and far away in Tanzania.
