Polaris Lecture #4

For the fourth lecture in our Polaris Lecture Series, we welcomed Helen Disney, Chief Executive Officer of Unblocked Events.  Her talk was titled, 'What is blockchain and how can it empower women?'  Helen explained succinctly how blockchain works and and illuminated its potential to transform the way we organise business and society.  In addition, Helen outlined how Blockchain could help women to achieve autonomy within their lives.  Students were also given a practical activity to understand the cryptographic structure present in blockchain technology.

Students left the lecture with an understanding of blockchain technology and a greater appreciation of the role this technology may play in their future.
