Helivan Workshop

On 19 November, the KS3 STEM Club were treated to a Helivan workshop run by the London Air Ambulance.  This workshop greatly enhanced their current learning about the London Air Ambulance service including helicopter engineering, navigation, financing, medical biology and navigation.  Practically, the girls enjoyed trying on some the equipment used by the Air Ambulance crews.

Reflecting on the workshop, one of the students said, "I had an amazing opportunity to learn about the London Air Ambulance service when the Helivan came to school. I was able to look at the equipment that they used and was fortunate enough to wear an actual helmet that the crew use when flying.  We also learnt a lot of facts like the type of emergencies that they are involved in."
