On the 20th November, our KS3 STEM Club members had the opportunity to attend the Skills Fair at the Science Museum. Some of the highlights included speaking to STEM Ambassadors about their jobs and learning about the commercial applications of STEM subjects, particularly in the communications and skin care fields.  The visit also included a tour of the Science Museum Wonderlab.

Reflecting on their visit, one student commented, 'At the Skills Fair we spoke to different scientists, researchers and many more people and learnt about interesting inventions.  We also learnt how the sun's rays can affect our skin and the difference between SPF 15 and SPF 50.'  Of their visit to the Wonderlab, another student said, 'We experienced the friction slide, electric shocks and tons of other activities, including the dancing rope (looking at waves), a Maths puzzle and a roundabout which mimicked how the moon goes around the Earth and how the Earth goes around the Sun. We also learnt about static electricity and U.V light.'
