St Martin's Election 2017

Back to Latest News

On Thursday 8 June, the country will be voting for a Government and Prime minster to lead the country. St Martin's will join in with a mock election in school. Throughout this week, a group of students, who are acting as candidates representing the major parties, will be campaigning for voters.

On Tuesday 6 June, in the run up to the Election, the school held a Hustings. This is a meeting where the students acting as election candidates, lead a debate. They shared their polices and answered questions posed by an audience of students and staff.  Unfortunately representatives from the Conservative Party were not available to share their policies so the floor was left to representatives from the Labour Party, The Liberal Democrats and the Green Party.   We will, of course, update you on Friday 9 June with the results of our very own election!
