Our dining room has been refurbished to an exceptional standard and we have a new and improved dining experience for the students, staff and visitors to the school. The Plaza dining room is light, bright and has been jazzed up with our white dining tables and colourful chairs. The cloth sales that drape across the ceiling adds to the design of the plaza dining room as well as creating a dining ambience, it also helps with the acoustics.
We have very popular Bistro Bar, where "Special Menus" are appealing and nutritious. Students enjoy sitting at the tall bistro tables which have been specially installed to add to the bistro look! You enter our new dining room via the Plaza, this is an oasis for students to relax and socialise. There are tropical plants, and colourful seating, it is a space that students respect and enjoy.
The catering service at St Martin's is provided by Harrison Catering Services, an independent, family-owned company founded in 1994. The Harrison proposition is centred around the on-site preparation and cooking of top quality meals made with fresh ingredients. Over 100 clients across the UK enjoy a Harrison food service, with more than 100,000 meals being served each day by approximately 2,000 staff across more than 270 locations. The refurbishments have been made possible with the funding input from Harrison Catering Services.
WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP
Our catering team works with the school to tailor menus to the tastes and preferences of the students.
We introduce further interest and excitement to our menus through themed lunches and cuisines from around the world, tying these into the school curriculum whenever possible. Our commitment to nutritious and healthy meals is reiterated by our accreditation of Silver Food for Life which is endorsed by the British Soil Association.
Our dishes are produced from 97% fresh ingredients and all our meat is British. We have a range of organic ingredients and aim to maximise access to fresh fruit and vegetables. A good range of salads is available daily using fresh raw vegetables with the minimum of dressings. Every egg we use is British-sourced and free range. We offer an innovative range of dishes, bespoke to the school's demographics where every customer will find traditional and contemporary dishes they can recognise and enjoy.
PROVIDING HEALTHY SCHOOL MEALS
Harrison understands that what young people eat affects their health and their ability to learn and perform in the classroom. At St Martin-in-the-Fields High School for Girls, our catering team provides nutritious, balanced meals, and we work to educate the pupils on how to make healthier food choices. Our goal is to instil a love and understanding of fresh, healthy food at a young age that will positively influence them throughout life.
All Harrison staff receive training in how to prepare and serve healthier food through the company's bespoke "Eat Well Live Well" training programme.
