As part of our Science Week on sustainable development, Year 8 students visited the Tideway tunnel which is being built to transport sewage in London.  The students got a chance to meet a variety of professionals involved in the project and enjoyed the ferry along the Thames. 

Tideway is currently running a club with the Science Department, where students are learning how to construct buildings using sustainable construction and engineering. STEM teaches how science concepts can be applied in engineering and encourages students to pursue careers in the field. 

Students found the trip very interesting and informative.  They had a great time, especially on the boat ride down the Thames.  The students were inspired to consider a career in engineering’
