Brecon Beacons 2018

Back to Latest News

On 16 April, a 30-strong group of Year 7 and 8 students travelled to the Hampshire and Cass Foundation Mountain Centre in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales for a week of outdoor activities which saw them mountain hiking, canoeing and caving.  These activities, as well as living together for five days, helped to build students’ confidence and fostered a great sense of group cohesion.

Roger Lee, the Centre Director commented, ‘Your girls achieved many things during their stay with us’.

‘We got a bit muddy but in the end it was worth it because when we arrived at the hill we got an amazing view’ Aya 7A

‘My favourite part was when we slid down the mountain’ Jamie-Lee 8R

‘When we went canoeing it was raining but it didn’t dampen the mood’ Aneah 7A

A very big thank you to the teachers who organised the trip and accompanied the students and to the staff at the Centre for their professionalism and friendliness.
