Tower of London visit

As part of History GCSE, students study a historical site and how and why it has changed over time.  Our historical site is the Tower of London (officially Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London).  In order to deepen their learning, our Year 10 historians recently travelled to St Katharine's and Wapping to visit this magnificent fortress.  Students completed a guided tour of the Tower, looking at the physical features of many of its buildings. They also took part in an object handling activity where they were able to handle and study many different historical artefacts that have been discovered at the Tower.  As one student put it, “It was really fun to look at some of the pottery from the Roman period.”
