Successful 6th Formers


HALEEMAT YAHAYA

Haleemat was ecstatic to discover she had an offer to study English Literature at Warwick University, after achieving AAB in English Literature, Religious Studies and Psychology AS Level. Citing extra support and lessons and the opportunity to meet guest speakers from a wide range of careers and pathways, Haleemat commented: 

St Martin’s teachers provided me with invaluable support, tailored advice and helped me to realise my full potential ”.




          

TIHANA BRYAN

Tihana has high ambitions for the future, after achieving BBC in Sociology, English Literature and Computer Science and accepting a place at Leicester University to study Computer Science. Speaking of her experience at St Martin’s, Tihana said: 

“the community atmosphere offered at St Martin’s sixth form provides a great support network, and has really contributed to my success. The sixth form staff is dedicated to offering extra opportunities to assist our learning; from lectures and seminars run by universities and external professionals to trips that have enhanced our understanding of learning – the support is endless”.

REBECCA JOSEPH

Predicted 3 A grades in Psychology, Sociology and Business Studies and having achieved 9 A*-B GCSE grades, Rebecca is looking forward to studying Psychology, with aspirations of achieving a PHD and becoming an occupational therapist. With hopes of attending Oxford, Cambridge or Exeter University, Rebecca spoke highly of St Martin’s:

"There was no doubt I would attend St Martin’s sixth form – knowing the learning environment, the teachers and their level of commitment to our education was one of the key reasons I stayed on; I knew that I would succeed here. In addition, I believe I benefitted from the smaller class sizes, as it provided the support I needed and a tailored approach to my revision”.  

HUILA LOPEZ

With 13 A*-B GCSEs under her belt and four A grades in English, Spanish, Sociology and History predicted, Huila sees her future career in the current affairs, with aspirations of becoming a politician, after attending Warwick University or read International Relations with Hispanic Studies.

“Throughout my time at St Martin’s sixth form, teachers have gone the extra mile and proven their dedication to helping us achieve our potential, through extra revision classes and resources to assist our learning. I would advise students to take full advantage of the opportunities and teacher support available, and remain focused on your goals from the beginning”.

TIYANA ROBINSON HENRIQUES

Studying at St Martin’s has definitely supported my goals. The sixth form coordinators endlessly offer students new opportunities, designed to develop our learning, provide an insight into university life or enhance our UCAS/employment applications; such as the Oxbridge mentoring programme. Staffs go above and beyond to ensure that students have a richly filled time table to ensure we spend our time wisely - engaged in seminars offered to instigate our creative and business mindsets to the enrichment programme that can further support our studies. I believe that the offer at St Martin’s will help me accomplish my goal of studying History and English Literature at university, and becoming a solicitor”.
