Advent Love

Back to Latest News

The fourth Sunday of Advent was the time to light the candle of love.  In our whole school Collective Worship this morning, we reflected on the scripture from 1 Corinthians  chapter 13 verse 13 “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”  We lit four candles, the candle of Hope, the candle of Peace, the candle of Joy, and the candle of Love and prayed for a world full of hope, joy, love and everlasting peace.  Thank you to the students in Year 8 Akistina, Samuela, Jade, Mojisola and Savannah for sharing their words of love with us.  You can watch the short video below.

Our prayer for Love

Dear God

Love is a four letter word that is so powerful and you tell us that you love us unconditionally and we should love our neighbours as ourselves.

On this final day of school, we will show our love to each other and take our love home to our families and friends.

Let us remember that during this season there will be so many people who are sad, hurt and afraid. Help us to open our eyes that we will see their pain and suffering and give courage and strength to those in need.

Help us to show you in our actions and with our words how much we love you and that your love transcends all things so that we may have hope, live in peace and love now and always.

In Jesus’s name we pray.  Amen
