Holy Trinity Church Straw bale Building Project

Holy Trinity Church are currently in the process of planning a large, straw bale annex to the rear of the Church. It will be the first straw bale building in Europe and the largest straw bale building in London.

The straw bale annex will be constructed using eco-friendly materials.  Much of the building work will be done by members of the congregation and volunteers under the guidance of the design team and engineers from Straw Works.  We are really excited that students from St Martin's have been given the opportunity to join the team of volunteers.

Every Thursday lunchtime, a group of students from years 8,9 and 10 will spend time on the building site. Their first building task will be to help with the foundations.

All health, safety and risk assessments have taken place and students have been provided with appropriate protective clothing to enable them to contribute to this wonderful project.
