Advent Peace

Back to Latest News

The Second Sunday of Advent was the time to light the candle of Peace.  In our whole school Collective Worship this morning, we reflected on the scripture from Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6. ‘For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders, And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.   As we lit both our candle of Hope and candle of Peace we prayed for a world full of peace, peace in our hearts.  Thank you to the students in 7M for sharing their  thoughts on Peace.  You can watch the short video below.

Our prayer for Peace

God of Justice and Prince of Peace. You ask us to seek peace and pursue it.
You are the source of all peace and we thank you that you bring peace where there is conflict,
safety where there is danger and hope where there is despair.
Lord, we place our trust in you and know that you will heal the sick,
feed the poor and help the vulnerable.
Help us to be a peacemaker and follow you as our Wonderful
Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Cover us with you Grace and fill us all with hope for a better world.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, whose own suffering brought us life, here and for eternity.
Amen.
